Dear Matilda,

I hope this letter reaches you well in the world of literature.

Did you know that you and your fascinating adventure have inspired generations? I've read the book "Matilda" from Roald Dahl many times and watched two movies made in 1996 and 2022 based on your original story, featuring characters like Miss Honey, Miss Trunchbull, and many others.

Speaking about Miss Honey, I had a teacher named Miss Song who was always caring for her students. Luckily, my school is nothing like the one you went to. We have lots of fun activities and multicultural subjects here. Unlike your parents, the Wormwoods, my parents love me more than anything and support my dream of becoming a writer in the future. I'm sorry if that makes you jealous.

Also, I love reading books, maybe not as much as you do. My top three favorite authors are Roald Dahl, David Williams, and E.B. White. They've written many exciting stories I'm sure you would enjoy.

Surprisingly, people in Australia call their national women’s soccer team the “Matildas,” because of those female athletes with great determination and bravery, just like you.

So, you've encouraged both adults and children to become more independent and stand up for what’s right. People now recognize you and your story as a timeless classic. I will tell my little sister and my kids about you someday, wish they can be as intelligent, independent, and a bookworm same as you. I hope you could come and visit my city to explore the countless new books in the library. I look forward to seeing you!

With admiration and gratitude,

Joe
